The student marketplace is live
Students sell each other furniture, bikes, textbooks and dorm gear. On the marketplace (in the header, right after Housing) you can post what you are not taking home with a photo and a price, or mark it free to take, and agree in messages when to hand it over. You can search by category, city, university and price. If you have a room to let, “Add what stays” on its listing puts the furniture and the fridge you leave for the next tenant next to it: whoever looks at the room sees them too. No money passes through the site: you hand things over in person and pay on pick-up.
The student guide, checked again: current rules and prices
Every chapter of the student guide has been checked again against the rules and prices of November 2026. The main changes: a study permit allows 30 hours of work a week; from outside the EU you report your accommodation within 3 days, online only, on Enter Hungary; since June 2026 Budapest has new conditions for the student pass with a foreign student card; title deeds come from the new E-ING system; and in Debrecen only tram 1 goes to the university.
Budapest, Debrecen, Szeged and Pécs have pages of their own
Each of the four university cities has its own page (for example addberbe.com/en/alberlet/debrecen): the city’s rooms to let and the people looking there, what a private room typically asks according to the listings, and where students live there, from the student guide. They are linked at the foot of every page, and posting a search starts from there with the city filled in.
Show more, instead of pages
At the foot of the full list of listings (behind “See all”, and the results of every search and filter), “Show more” adds the next twenty listings right there, under the others, instead of turning to a new page. The address keeps up with how far you got, so going back from a listing takes you back there.
Longer rows on the front page
The rows on the front page (rooms to let, people looking, fits your search, just taken) now hold 20 listings instead of 8. The cards are narrower and the row runs out to the edge of the screen: on a computer you see five or six at once and one click on the arrow moves on by a whole batch, and on a phone you see two. The district and the details on a card wrap onto a second line instead of being cut off at its edge, and the price sits at the same height on every card; the cards of the full list look the same way, and the listing’s features (furnished, utilities included, video…) are listed under the price, separated by commas, all of them, in the front page’s rows too. “See all” at the end of the row and on its top right still takes you to all of them.

Sign up with Google
A new account is now created with your Google account, in one click; the email-and-password sign-up form is gone, because almost nothing but fake accounts came through it. Anyone who signed up with email earlier can still log in the same way and reset their password. The newsletter can be requested in your profile.
People looking: a picture puts you first
In the front page’s “Looking for a place” row, the people whose card has a picture now come first: among them, first those who marked themselves as female in their profile, and a photo on the listing before a profile photo; then the ones without a picture – the newest first in each. The letter picture Google generates (your initial in a coloured circle) does not count as a photo: the card then shows the drawn student and sits with the ones without a picture. If you are looking, a real profile photo or a photo moves you up the row, where landlords look first.
Half rooms, to let and to look for
The half room of a “one and a half room” flat is to let too. Anyone letting a private room can now say whether it is a whole room or a half room, and the card then says “Half room”. Anyone looking for a room can say whether they are after a half room or a whole one, on the posting form and in the quick “What are you looking for?” step alike; if either will do, leave it empty. The board’s filters gained a “Room size” row: “Half room” shows only the rooms marked as one, “Whole room” also those that never said, because a room that says nothing is a whole room. Your search matches the same way: after a half room, the marked ones; after a whole room, the rest.
The filters, redrawn
The filter sheet has a new look. Every question is its own section with a thin rule between them; the type of place, the flatmate and the length of stay are each picked on one joined bar, the room count and the deposit step with –/+ buttons, the rent has a Minimum and a Maximum field, the features are chips with small drawings, and Clear and Show results stay within reach at the foot of the sheet.
Looking for a whole flat? Say how many rooms
Anyone looking for a whole flat now says in their listing how many rooms they are after, at least and at most – half rooms included, as on the flats themselves. For someone looking for a room it is optional, but they can say too. The quick “What are you looking for?” step asks as well whether you want a room or a whole flat, and for a whole flat how many rooms – pre-filled from the board’s filters when you come from there. The board’s filters gained the room count as well: narrow the flats to let to at least–at most this many rooms (a flat that never said how many stays in view), and only a flat that falls in the range you gave counts as fitting your search.
Would you like a contract template? One click if so
When an application has come through – you were chosen, or you chose – we ask next to it whether you would like a lease contract template. There is none yet: if enough people ask, we will write one and e-mail you. One click, as on the student marketplace and student parcels pages – it is your vote.

Paging arrows on the front page’s rows
The arrows that page the rows on the front page (rooms to let, people looking, just taken, fits your search) now sit over the cards, at either end of the row. One click moves on by as many cards as fit whole, so the first listing you have not seen yet lands at the start of the row. Where there is nothing more, no arrow shows, and none at all when everything fits. On a phone you still swipe. “See all →” on the right of the row opens the full list.
Private person or estate agent? Sign-up now asks
The site is for private people. Whoever signs up says whether they are a student, a landlord, someone looking for a flatmate – or an estate agent. An agent account cannot post listings and can only write to people who allowed agents to contact them in their profile (nobody, by default). Agent accounts are marked in messages. An agent posing as a private person is blocked.
A “Report” link, and a plain rule: this is not a dating site
Every listing and profile now has a “Report” link. If someone is not after a room or a flatmate but after dates, harassment or a scam, one sentence is enough and we will look. The terms of use now say it outright: anyone using the site for that is blocked without notice. A searcher’s page reads like a person’s, too: “wants it furnished”, “speaks English” – not the facts of a flat.
Change a listing’s type after posting
Posted a room but would rather find a flatmate, or the other way round? No need to delete and start again: switch the type when you edit the listing.
Video walkthroughs on listings
Add a YouTube or Vimeo link to a tour of the flat and the listing shows a “Video” chip. Photos and the video now come first on the form, because they are what people decide on.
Tabs in the header: Housing, Guide, and what’s next
The parts of the site sit side by side as tabs. The Marketplace (students selling to each other) and Parcels (a box from home to the dorm) are still ideas: if you’d use one, press “I’m interested”, and if enough of you do, we’ll build it.
A new front page, in rows like Airbnb’s
Rooms to let, people looking and what was just taken, in rows that scroll sideways. With an open search of your own, a “Fits your search” row on top shows the rooms that fit it. Every card shows the essentials the same way: room type, district, distance to university, move-in date and price.
The student guide covers Szeged, Debrecen and Pécs
The guide is no longer only about Budapest: the chapters on address registration, residence permits and transport cover the three big university towns outside the capital too.
A student guide for international students
Seven chapters in English and Hungarian: renting and scams, address registration, the residence permit, arriving (SIM, bank), getting around and learning Hungarian. Each chapter shows when its facts were last checked.
Photos: up to 20, with rotate and a cover of your choice
Up to 20 pictures per listing. Photos taken sideways on a phone show the right way up, any of them can be turned with one button, and you choose which one is the cover.
“Taken”: a listing closes instead of vanishing
A room that has been let stays on the board for a week marked “Taken”, then lives on in your account. When it is free again, “Relist” puts it back as a fresh listing.
A reorganised filter panel
Filters grouped the way a property portal does it: location, price, room, move-in, amenities. A sheet that slides up on a phone and a dialog in the middle on a desktop.

Filter by metro, stop and university
Search by minutes on foot to the metro or the nearest useful stop and minutes to your university. Pick several districts at once, and see the area on a small map on each listing.
An e-mail as soon as a fitting listing appears
Post what you are looking for and you get an e-mail the moment a matching room turns up. Landlords hear about the searchers who fit their room. Switch it off in your profile at any time.
Discover: swipe right on what you like
Flick through listings one card at a time. Swipe right on a room, and if the lister likes you back, it’s a match and you both get an e-mail.
See who already lives there
Listings show, with small figures, how many people live in the flat and who they are hoping for in the free spots, so the card alone tells you whether you would fit in.
Photos on the cards
Board cards carry pictures you can swipe through, and a listing opens them full screen. Like single photos, and save a listing for later with the heart.
In English
The whole site is available in English under /en, and e-mails arrive in the language you chose. Listing text stays in the language its author wrote it in.
Apply, share, save
Apply to a listing in one click with your profile, and flatmates can vote on the applicants together. Share listings on Facebook, WhatsApp and Viber, or save them for later.
